Rio Ngumoha is one of those talents who have been at Liverpool for a full season now since joining from Chelsea.

The 16-year-old pacey winger has the necessary agility and flair to take on players who are well above his age group.

Although the young attacker has been a regular with the U18 LFC side, he has also been featuring in the club’s U21 side due to his exceptional talent.

He made a total of 26 appearances across all competitions, bagging two goals and assisting 4.

Ngumoha was also called up by Slot for the Reds’ FA Cup match against Accrington Stanley, where he started the game and played 72 minutes.

During his time on the pitch, the youngster took one shot, attempted seven dribbles while completing three, had a passing accuracy of 89% and gained a 6.6 rating for his performance (stats via Sofascore).

The England U17 international had claimed last year that he wants to be regarded as one of the best in the game: “I think for me, we’re all believing that I can win the Ballon d’Or.

“I want to be regarded as one of the best players to ever play football and yeah, be a legend in the game.”

This speaks volumes about how much the young attacker is eager to prove his worth at the highest level.

Now it is up to Rio Ngumoha to impress the coaching staff of Liverpool and Arne Slot in particular to secure a place in the team, which will be flying to Hong Kong and Japan.
